oh wow im thinking of doing Cheshire next year for PAX AUS but im not exactly sure how to do the mask, so how do you do the leather part? i have clay so i figure i could mold the mask out of that but i got confused with the leather part?
thank you! leather is honestly one of the most versatile mediums I've worked with, you can make almost anything! one good tip would be, if you plan on making a mask (or anything) with a lot of little detail, use 4-6 ounce leather which is thin and pliable. Also, Vegetable Tan leather is the best kind to use for masks or projects that you want to stay in a specific shape. Hope that helps a least a bit
In all honesty, I saw this mask and JOINED devianart just to ask you if I can buy one of these masks. It is beautiful and I am VERY VERY interested, if you wish to sell them. Cost is not an issue for me.Please let me know! *throws money at screen* ^~^
I have wanted to find a decent Cheshire mask for a while now. I've wanted to make one for even longer. Good thing I'm a talentless hack! Saaayyyy, you wouldn't be interested in the sale of a duplicate, would ya?
Hi there, I have had a lot of inquiries about commissioning this mask and I would be happy to make one for you, there are just a few things you need to know before hand:
This mask is made in a specific measurement and I cannot adjust the size since the leather is molded to the already sized plaster cast. Second, since this mask is made from leather, it is quite pricey. Good quality leather can cost up to $100. If you are still interested or have any other questions, feel free to ask
